Nekocon 11 Report

Im copying this into the forum and my DA journal, so if you want to reply, comment, or ask questions please do so on either DA or the forum.
So I got home around 5pm on Sunday from Nekocon 11. Wow. It was a lot of fun! ^_^ “Shiden”, a buddy of mine I met online came down from Maine to go to Nekocon (in Hampton Virginia) so we finally met in person. He also brought his friend Nick. The two of them were a trip and it was a lot of fun meeting the two of them. Though now they know just how boring of a person I really am 
They were awesome and cosplayed as 2 of the Belmonts from the Castlevania series.
I met a lot of people and I really didnt know how to name all of them here, so I copied their URLs and studio/Comic etc names down here So here we go…
AppleGeeks - I met Ananth. Hawk couldn’t make it, last minute change but it was great to meet Ananth. He seems like a really cool guy, and really, I didn’t ever see him take that hat off… I bet he walked around without it on and not a single person recognized him, like Superman’s glasses.
Johnny Wander is another webcomic Ananth is writing for with the artist Yuko Ota, I’m adding it to my list of “Read soon” webcomics. I didn’t actually meet Yuko Ota but she was there from what I was told ^_^;
On our left were 2 great artists - Samantha “Celesse” Whitten and Stacey “Algy” Pefferkorn These two were a lot of help though I don’t know if they know it We didn’t chat much but it was a pleasure sitting next to them. Their art is fantastic and they created a nice line that got people to look over at our table a bit ^_^. I wish I had had money to buy one of - well nearly everything… Take a look at their work, I also need to look into their comic STRAYS
Of course I also talked to Mookie of Dominic Deegan again. ^_^ He’s always so nice… Makes me wonder when we will meet BIZZARO MOOKIE - who would make Evil Mookie look like a kitten…
And another of course- I talked a bit with Dave Lister of Paradox Lost. As always also a nice guy, =_= i didn’t get to go to his panel though. Now that I think about it- I didn’t go to a single panel this year!
Also talked to Danny and Donnie of 2WC Online (Most well known for Draconia Chronicles) But they quickly made me run away by starting to sing “What what in my butt.” I really dont know what started it- it all happened so fast… o_o
Also talked to Kroze from Yu Gi Oh! The Abridged Series! He was our old neighbor last year, they had some awesome new T-Shirts, IN AMERICA!
I dont want to forget anyone - and I cant forget Wraith & Aakashi from MSF High. They unfortunately got stuck between 2 yaoi dealers… T_T
Oh I also talked with the Dueling Analogs guy - for a split second. About how Invisible Man and Ninja man are the same- but oh so different… Invisible man is lame. I doubt you will read this but I am guilty of laughing at the poster of rejected Megaman villains but not buying it, I should have… But i totally am not the person in the comic- Sandshrew girl was possibly the most iconic of all the cosplay people… So simple, yet so memorable…
Also talked to Erin of Shades of Veil. I have not had time to get started yet but I will read it! Thanks for dropping by and talking! Sorry about being so weird and going off on tangents XD I do that often, like this one time, I really wanted to get something cheap because I didnt want to spend a lot of money because I had a long time off from work, I work at a hotel, Im there right now- wh- wha? BAM! Tangent chain. ^_^
AND! I also talked with GARTH! From Comedity and his new comic - Finders Keepers. He was cool– huh- notice how like- everyone was cool? I wonder if - since I was there- was I cool too? hmmm Probably not.
And I wish this guy had a website- he hasn’t done anything with his DA page as of yet but its the only place I can really link XD - Nathenial was the artist sitting dirrectly to my tables right side. He wasn’t there long- too busy being all active and stuff - but he was taking on sight commissions and he did a fine job with a sketch of Kate I commissioned. ^_^ It was the first time I made a commission at a con. Hopefully he will get some work online, I only got a glimpse of a few of his sketches and some of it was relevant to my interests, now lets see me saying that coming back to bite me in the butt when he finally posts some work. Just remember- I said I didn’t see much - its totally possible I only saw a few i really liked and missed ones i didnt )

I know I am forgetting some people so I hope Axel will add to this rant himself to fill in the blanks, he talked to several of these people more than I and I know he talked to others as well.
But now on to just the week and having fun. I am not much of a talker, most people that stopped by that didnt know the comic got “The Pitch” “Hey- all the characters you see here are from our web comic Yosh! - its been around for nearly 5 years now with nearly 700 official comics, please take a business card if you are interested” and the price pitch when they asked. But whenever someone claimed to be a reader or a fan - our eyes lit up and even the Darklord himself shed a tear of joy… ok not quite- but it did mean a lot to us.
I especially liked when someone asked “What’s the comic about?” and my friend Tom and I gave a short glance at each other and well - our answer was “Even to try and make a summery of the comic seems impossible to do it justice.” But we tried- I tried to mention how its a very character driven and history driven book. Trying to explain “The Weirding” was fun - because you all should know by now- I tend to ramble! ON AND ON AND ON! So you know as soon as I said “An event 10 years prior to the start of Yosh! -” i had to then say “The even was caused by - ” and then “Millions of years ago…” XD
There are tons of prints left over and I will be opening a store online to sell them at the same price they were at the con! (Thats Cheap! But I get ya by charging shipping and handling so buy multiple items and “save” - more on that once I get it up- it might take a while but hopefully less than a month) XD
TONS OF AWESOME PEOPLE! That sums up Nekocon 11. End rant. … Hmmm that didnt work - /end? no - oh right-
