If I remember correctly Kate has an aptitude for being an artificer/enchanter and helps Shiden whit some of his projects.
Kate has assisted in the creation of dead Orichalcum which has provided several useful applications for research and magical technology creation. It’s a process that Shiden hasn’t been able to replicate to the same quality as what she is capable of doing.
