It’s a reference, yeah. Guess I’m showing my age, but it was a mid ’90s song.
I’m not sure which shows off the skill of their creator more, that they can have these intense, very human emotions, or that they can and will go to the effort to conceal them.
To add on that, the song itself is a reference to “Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep”/Blade Runner.
