I have to say.. I’m actually okay with Shion making Death cry a bit? Not in a sadist way but, in a “this is a place of healing” way. Death is getting a chance to reflect and have remorse for her prior actions which means she’s finally being able to grow as she should have been able to all along.

One problem here, death never tried to shorten her life, she always was trying to live longer. She did everything within her abilities to not harm the host. So making her feel bad about something that was totally out of her control, and was entirely do to her simply existing, isn’t exactly fair and won’t teach her anything good.

I completely forgot about these 2, also she made death cry how?

Shion is referencing the fact that the magic of death makes the host slowly die, causing her to almost always die at a very young age only to be reborn and go through that time and time again for thousands of years. Dying every 2, at most a little over 3 decades, sometimes less. It’s never been her intention to do that though, so being reminded of that, while having human emotions, is a pretty heart wrenching concept. It’s also a really hurtful thing to say- but Shion is also a child that is finally getting the chance to grow as a child and a person all her own. So it’s not unreasonable for either of them to have these feelings and responses, it’s just unfortunate and how it be.

John Brunner wrote a book called The Traveller in Black where a man wanted to kill his fiancée and wished to know what foods would ensure death. The traveller granted his wish, and he broke down in despair, now knowing that whatever regimen was followed, death inevitably ensued. In other words, no matter what diet you follow, you will eventually die.
