Birthday Filler 2024

Birthday Filler 2024 published on 16 Comments on Birthday Filler 2024

Thank you everyone for all your support for these many years! I’ve gotten great opportunities to learn, practice, tell stories, draw cute/sexy/funny/spooky pictures. I’ve had lot’s of ups and down, along with so many of you. Y’all should know, I don’t like begging for stuff, I don’t like asking for stuff, and generally, I’m not going to. You are all ready for what I’m about to say next- BUT – hehe – yeah. I want to keep doing this as long as I can. Now- Not Yosh! exactly. Yosh! has an end, and we are well into the final acts of it. Now, I expect it to be 3-5 years before Yosh! Is over, and when it is, maybe I will try something else with it, maybe I will do rework, or just move on or do some cute stuff. I haven’t decided yet. My other comic though still has a long ways to go! If you do want to help out, well I still have my patreon patreon.com/yosh but it is also a huge help if you can let other people know about the comic OR- and here’s a special one- If you found or find your comics on a list site or from a certain place, let me know! I need to find new ways to let people know about my work. Twitter is not a site for growth atm, Blusky is new but still having some issues growing an audience (but you can find me there at https://bsky.app/profile/sagesaga.bsky.social ). I’ve been very fortunate to have enough friends and been in the right place at the right time to get by, but that’s going to dwindle, and has. As you can tell, I’ve gotten older, and I don’t understand the young folk anymore- XD I dont know how to promote my work! It’s always been a weakness. So- If you can, help me out. Feel free to comment, or join Blusky- send me a message, or email me- people still use email, right? sage25@gmail.com XD

Thank you all so much for everything. Hope it continues and I hope you all continue to enjoy my work, and I hope I can keep doing it. And I Hope and I Hope- and now im thinking about Hope from Baldur’s Gate 3! YEAH! If you get it you get it- if you dont- maaaan BG3 is so good-

Sage, congratulations on your birthday! I was forewarned by TwoKinds, I’m sure you know his Deviantart has a tribute-and-tease.

Since you ask for one kind of advice, you will get some you didn’t ask for. 😎

– As for comics lists, I don’t have time to update very often. But Top-Web-comics has given me some tips.

– I think it is spelled Bluesky, was started by the ousted Twitter founder, and it seems the last two weeks it has been a floater on science sites. Everyone is thinking about bailing the poison well that is **** and now it became a convenient alternative. (Threads didn’t measure up.) That said, some fact interested people are thinking of continuing responding to the rampant disinformation, but it is less effective than ****’s disinformation-promoting algorithms.

– It is tradition to use birthdays or barfdays (depending on how much you party) to take stock. But I would suggest lowering the stress and increasing the efficiency by scheduling it more often.

Rieko and potatoes!? What a mashup!

I’ve been using https://piperka.net/ as my Webcomics Tracking website of choice for years now. Their Database is huge and I regularly find new comics from related tags as well as the Ad-Banners that show up on the pages.
The site crawls it’s database of webcomics for newly released strips and offers users a direct link to the newest released Page as well as a Bookmarking for when you’re reading up from the beginning. Not hotlinking, just actual links to the Comics’ Websites.

Yosh! is already listed on there but when I just tried to bookmark Artificial Incident I realised that it doesn’t have a page there yet.

Happy Birthday.

And just as a warning, the ped’s fled X when Elon ousted them, and formed B.

? You seem to get the content control, user appeal and company formation timeline wrong:

“One estimate suggests that at least half a million researchers had Twitter profiles in 2022.

That was the year that billionaire Elon Musk bought the platform. He renamed it X and reduced content moderation, among other changes, prompting some researchers to leave. Since then, pornography, spam, bots and abusive content have increased on X, and community protections have decreased, say researchers.”

“Bluesky, by contrast, offers users control over the content they see and the people they engage with, through moderation and protections such as blocking and muting features, say researchers. It is also built on an open network, which gives researchers and developers access to its data; X now charges a hefty fee for this kind of access.

Several similar social-media platforms have also sprung up, including Mastodon and Threads, but they haven’t gained the same traction among academics as Bluesky.”

– Nature

“Bluesky began in 2019 as a research initiative at Twitter, becoming an independent company in 2021.”

– Wikipedia

Yeah twitter banned me from using the API after telling me it was free if I signed up for dev access. Then they said I needed to go to the support page they linked me to get it reinstated but the link went to a twitter support page that was shut down. Then they said if I wanted access again I needed to pay for it. Then they said my posts were too similar and thought I was a bot meanwhile I was constantly getting messages from bots that wanted me to visit their profiles for links to their nudes. I don’t see how anyone can think someone buying the platform. Firing 60ish percent of the staff and taking it to a private business so they no longer have public trading options and less reason to be open or honest and on top of all that then do the whole AI thing so I can’t post my art there anymore till they either get sued and remove it or put some guidelines or opt out option. Oh and didn’t they recently admit they suppress link posts that go off site from twitter? That’s most of my posts trying to get y’all here to read my comic in a decent format.

No wonder it dried up as a comics go-to as well!

I read that at least the raw cut firings was 80ish percent. NDTV: “Musk bought X (then called Twitter) in 2022 and laid off more than 6,000 employees- roughly 80 per cent of the company’s staff. The workforce was forced to justify their roles and even judge whether their own colleagues should be retained.”

I’m not sure on the exact number but I had heard that the 80 percent number included people who quit not just the ones fired and I think it’s Elon that heavy focuses that 80 didn’t get fired but it was closer to 60 as if that’s better? I just go with 60 low balling it because it’s still an outrageous number.

Happy belated birthday, Sage.

As far as raising funds – several artists have R and even X rated off shoot comics for supporters. I don’t think this is really your style, but sex does sell.

Get with other comic collectives like Spiderforest that promote each other and have an annual collective comic book drop fundraiser.

Add D&D and anime themed conventions to your rounds. Fans of each will find things to love in your comic.
I’m sure most of this you have thought of or heard before, but these are my suggestions.
